EUREKA, CALIFORNIA (June 15, 2010) – 13 year-old Brandon White earned his second pole qualifying effort of the 2010 USAC Western Young Guns season, leading the pack at Orange Show Speedway on Saturday night.

White drives for Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle with sponsorship from North Coast Lighting & Electric, Inc.  The second year RSWC driver is campaigning in the entire USAC Western Young Guns series on asphalt which includes both NorCal and SoCal divisions.

White qualified first with a lap of 13.751 seconds around the quarter-mile asphalt oval.  His other pole of 2010 was recorded on March 27 at I-10 Speedway.

The lap qualified him for the trophy dash where he finished third.

In previous visits to the low-banked track, White noted that they had put down syrup to make a top groove.  On Saturday night, the track was syrup-free, making passing a difficulty.

White took his time going from sixth on the grid.  After a wild battle for fourth, White set his sights on third place and teammate Tanner Long.  White stuck his nose underneath Long but broke loose, spinning out.

With just five laps left in the race, White was only able to make one more pass and settle for fifth place.

The fifth place finish dropped White seven points behind points leader and teammate Austin Farley in the USAC SoCal standings.  White is comfortably in control of the Western Pavement and NorCal divisions however.

“Brandon’s almost ready to move into the full Focuses,” Driver Coach Ron Sutton said.  “When he turns 14 it’s going to be like letting an animal out of its cage!”

White will test a full Ford Focus Midget throughout the late summer with his 14th birthday coming up on September 24.  His series debut is tentatively slated for November 6 at the Las Vegas Nationals event.

EUREKA, CALIFORNIA (April 21, 2010) – 13 year-old Brandon White of Eureka, Calif. led all 15 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Young Gun feature at Stockton 99 Speedway in Stockton, Calif.

White is one of the youngest members of the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle program and drives with sponsorship from Northcoast Lighting and Electric. His win allowed Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle to sweep both the USAC Young Gun and Focus Midget features for the night at the popular central valley speedway.

White qualified fourth fastest and also finished fourth in his dash race. In the feature, White would to have to contend with a trio of talented RSWC drivers including Cody Thompson and Courtney Atkinson who were making their USAC debuts.

White and sophomore RSWC racer Keegan Walmer paced the field throughout all 15 laps of competition, showcasing their abilities but also their experience level in the cars. Midway, Walmer passed White for the lead coming off of turn four, but it was short lived, as White put a cross under move on him to retake the lead before the stripe.

The feature win for White was a popular one for a partial Northern California crowd. Saturday’s events marked the first Northern California appearance for USAC Ford Focus cars after three early races in the Southwestern United States.

White is racing in the USAC Pavement Young Guns Focus Midget series in three regions for 2010, including the SoCal, NorCal and Western series.  He leads the early championship points standings in all three.

“Brandon’s development in just a few races last season was clearly evident tonight,” Driver Coach Ron Sutton said. “Even with his young age, he is proving to all of us that he is a winner. He’s ready to make the leap into the full Focus ranks soon!”
